English: This modern, luxurious self-catering apartment is spaciously designed and stylishly decorated. It is perfect for people who just want to relax while being in the middle of it all.
The loft is located on the sunny side of Görlitzer Park. Since it is on the top floor it gives you a spectacular view over the city. The location doesn´t get more central than that. This neighborhood is my favorite in Berlin and one of the most popular. Kreuzberg packs more restaurants, bars, cafes and galleries than anywhere in the city. It is also not far from Berlin´s main attractions, like the Reichstag and Brandenburger Tor in Mitte or Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg.
I have renovated the loft with the help of an architect I know since early school days. We wanted to create an open, minimalistic space with a modern design that gives you a warm and cozy feeling at the same time. Thats why me mixed materials like the handmade concrete countertop in the kitchen and the wooden shelfs, made out of over 100 year old wooden beams, which we preserved from the old roof construction. We also handmade the dining table out of the same wood.
Further we wanted to feature the extraordinary amount of light in this space by sparing a wall between bedroom and dining area. Instead the bedroom is separated by a three-part slide door, which can be opened all the way, which gives you a great feeling of spaciousness, since it connects windows from both sides, north and south.
The apartment is very quite. Since it´s on the top floor you hear no noises from neighbors at all. Also the bedroom is facing north, towards a large backyard with trees. You hardly hear any city noises, which is a great extra benefit in a central area like Kreuzberg.
The loft sits on top of an old four storied building of the 1930s. They apparently haven´t thought of setting up an elevator back then. So you need to take the stairs :(
The KITCHEN has got everything you need, from espresso maker to kitchen scales, dishwasher, freezer and stove.
The BEDROOM is equipped with a comfortable kingsize boxspring bed and a large closet. Sheets and linen are being washed and ironed by a professional cleaning company to ensure a clean and high class hotel standard.
Excellent PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION connections take you to Alexanderplatz, the museum district or Hackescher Markt in Mitte in about 12 minutes, to Checkpoint Charly or the Eastside Gallery in around 10 minutes and to Berlins most famous shopping center KaDeWe in Charlottenburg for instance in around 14 minutes.
