Schiedam, known for its historical architecture, canals, and significant role in the Dutch gin industry. The city is home to the tallest windmills in the world. These large windmills were historically used in the distillation process to grind grain. Schiedam hosts several museums, including the National Jenever Museum and Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, which focuses on contemporary art and local history.
Lay out
Ground floor: main entrance (at street level) with letterbox. Before you enter the building; pay attention to the facade and window frames of the house: as if time has stood still!
1st floor: a private staircase leads you into the beautiful apartment, first into the hallway that gives access to the toilet ans livingarea. Lets start at the incredibly beautiful living room which is located at the front of the apartment. You have a spectaculair view of Schiedams Grote Markt and the beautiful town hall . Another nice detail here is the beautiful stained glass above the windows. The living room is furnished with a spacious corner sofa, coffee table, TV cabinet with TV and it has a beautiful decorated fireplace (for decoration) and a dresser where you can store your personal belongings and wines.
Further, to the rear of the house, we enter the dining area; here, a spacious dining table is present that seats 6 people. Next to it is the beautiful open kitchen, well equipped with built-in appliances such as a combination oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, induction hob with extractor hood and plenty of cupboards and drawers to store your cooking utensils and food. Very nice is that a small bar is present here with two bar stools; the ideal place for a drink!
2nd floor: The first bedroom is spacious; there is a king-size bed with bedside tables and a chest of drawers. The second bedroom is also spacious; there is a king-size bed with bedside tables and a wardrobe. The first bathroom is located here plus the extra area with the washing machine and dryer.
3th floor: On this floor are also two rooms. The third room has a double bed and cupboard as well and the fourth bedroom is furnished as a home office; 2 desks and some bookcases. Also on this floor is the second spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, bathtub, sink with cabinet and mirror and a third toilet. At the front is an extra room which provides some extra cuboard space (not suitable as a bedroom) .
Via the staircase at the landing (from 3th floor) you can reach the amazing roofterrace, the perfect spot to enjoy the warmer summer months! From here you can enjoy the view over the city centre of Schiedam.
