Sittard
Sittard (Limburg: Zitterd) is a city in Dutch Limburg, in the transition area between Central Limburg and the South Limburg hill country. It is one of the oldest places in the Netherlands and the second oldest city (with city rights) in Limburg.
Since 2001, Sittard has formed the municipality of Sittard-Geleen together with the south-west neighboring Geleen, located in the former Western Mining Region, and a number of smaller towns, including Born. The original hinterland of Sittard forms the historic Land of Zwentibold around the Graetheide.
